There could be several reasons for an unstable wireless mouse connection, including signal interference, too much distance, low battery, or driver issues. To ensure the best performance and stable connection, please follow these recommendations:
- Connect the wireless dongle directly to your computer’s USB port. Using a USB hub or non-original accessories may cause signal instability.
- Keep the mouse and dongle within 20 cm of each other, and avoid obstacles like metal objects or walls that may block the signal.
- Maintain at least 2 meters of distance from other devices that use the 2.4GHz frequency, such as Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth devices, or wireless headphones.
- For optimal wireless performance, maintain a distance of within 20cm between the mouse and the 8K dongle. Ensure the dongle is at least 2m away from 2.4GHz interference sources (e.g., Wi-Fi routers).
- Reduce signal interference: Wireless speakers, headphones, controllers, Bluetooth transmitters, microwave ovens, smartphones with network sharing, external hard drives, and other USB cables can interfere with the 2.4GHz signal. Keep your mouse away from these interference sources whenever possible.
- Switch Wi-Fi frequency bands: If you’re using Wi-Fi, switch to the 5 GHz band if possible, as it can help minimize interference.
- Adjust the USB dongle position: If you have multiple wireless receivers plugged into your computer, place them as far apart as possible.
- Keep the USB dongle away from USB 3.0 ports: If your computer has multiple USB ports, place the mouse dongle away from USB 3.0 ports that are already in use as far as possible.
- Lower the polling rate: Higher polling rates require more processing power. If your computer doesn’t have enough performance, a high polling rate can cause instability and delays in the 2.4GHz connection. Additionally, some games that don’t support high polling rates may experience lag or instability.
- Adjust the LOD (Lift-off Distance):
If you notice slight cursor drift or jitter, try adjusting the LOD setting in the software. LOD controls how sensitive the sensor is to height changes, helping you fine-tune tracking to match your personal preference. If the issue is caused by an uneven or textured surface, we recommend using a flat desk surface or a mouse pad.
- Enable “Long Distance Mode” under Advanced Settings:
Turning on Long Distance Mode increases wireless signal strength and improves resistance to interference between the mouse and receiver.
However, this mode consumes more battery power due to the boosted transmission strength, so we recommend turning it on only when needed.
If you’re experiencing delay/lag/unresponsiveness in 4K/8K modes, it is likely that the game or your PC specs do not support 4K/8K polling rates.
